Coal slack is a fine-grade bituminous coal, sold in a full 25kg bag. It is ideal for blending with larger fuels such as Doubles or household coal to maintain a steady heat and extend burn time, making it a great economical choice for open fires and multi-fuel stoves.
Why use coal slack?
- Extends burn time: mix with larger coal to keep the fire going longer
- Bank up overnight: its fine size is well suited to banking up a fire
- Economical heat: keeps an appliance ticking over for less
- Full 25kg bag
How to use slack
Once your fire is burning well, add a layer of slack over the top of larger coal. It slows the burn and keeps the fire in for longer, perfect for keeping a room warm into the evening.
Please note: slack is a bituminous fuel and is not suitable for use in smoke control areas.
